Hi guys, I'm away from the computer atm

Hi all,

Thank you to all readers of my blog.  I am just letting you all know that I am not able to blog as much as I like.  I am in hospital and I don't know when I can get out.  Please bear with me and I will get back into the swing of things as soon as possible.

Trying to paint my models ;)

So, its the new year, wahoo, I am trying to paint here, will you keep it down please!

As I am sure most hobbyists got some vouchers for their chosen hobby even were even lucky enough to get the models they were after.  I got the former, which I am very happy happy with and I got some Hive Guard.  I had noticed their awesome firepower and I had also been recommended them by some people on a forum.

I decide on New Year's Day that I am going to put them together (having got the models the weekend before) when I discover I have no glue.  TYPICAL!  So I cut all the pieces out and clean up all the finecast then I would go out and get the glue I needed.  I couldn't just pop to my local store either, as they now close on Tuesdays and January 1st was a Tuesday this year.

I went to my local supermarket and got a named brand of super glue which has put them together nicely.  By the time I had got all the models together it was dark outside so I decided to put the models to one side and I would start painting them on the 2nd.

Roll on Wednesday and the weather is rubbish.  I am very disappointed although I am not surprised.  So I think to myself I will continue with my hobby by getting other models ready in the hope that it might brighten up later in the day.  Did it? Nope!  I turned to my long suffering girlfriend and asked if it was alright to cheer myself up by killing some Orks by playing Space Marine on the X-Box.  She of course complied and I spent the next couple of hours trying to get a couple of the achievements I have left to acquire.

So, its now Thursday and I wake up to another gloomy day, but wait, its windy as well so its even more inappropriate to start basing models.  It even looks like it might rain.  I must admit, part of my is tempted to go to B&Q and get a gazebo of some description as this would allow me to get going on the basing of my models.  I have my flying monster as well to strip, which I can't do inside.

This weather is killing me!!!

War Games...

War Games...

I am starting this blog in the hopes that people are interested in my views and can learn from mistakes I make in all aspects of the hobby.

I collect, paint and play Games Workshop models.  In particular I play Tyranids and to a lesser extent I collect Dark Angels (looking forward to the update they'll be getting next month).

I have around 5000 points of tyranids painted and maybe 3000 points still to paint (about half of that is big Forgeworld models so its not too many models)

I will be posting about games, painting issues and talking about lists that I am constantly working on.

I do have a youtube page with a few videos on.  I will be updating this videos over the coming months, so hang on in there.  If you have any requests on topics, be it, painting tutorials or list construction, let me know and I will start with those videos as my topics.

Anyhoo, I am done for now, leave your comments about what you wanna see and I will get back to you when I can.

YouTube video suggestion page

Hi there,

I have realised that I have neglected my subscribers to my channel over the past months.  There are good reasons but at this point they are just excuses.

So i am setting up this post so people can comment and let me know what they are looking for.  Of course they need to be Tyranid based.

This is my YouTube page:

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy!

The conversion incident of the Swarmlord in the daytime

So, today I started a conversion I hold close to my heart. I was asked to make a Swarmlord out of the Games Workshop Hive Tyrant kit.

So far I have cleaned up the Hive Tyrant bits and pieces I will be using. I have liquid green stuff'd the body together and filled all the gaps and I have super-glued the lower half of the body to the legs and the legs to the base.

I have asked the client if he I can include a tail commandeered from one of his Hive Tyrants. This would help make his Swarmlord look more like the picture in the codex. I am currently waiting for a reply.

Tomorrow I will start the most important and critical part of the whole conversion. Making the 3 extra boneswords.

I will be filming this process and will be putting the footage up on YouTube.

In the meantime, email me at HiveFleetNederlande@gmail.com or search HiveFleetNederlande on YouTube.

Thanks for reading and if you want to ask me anything Tyranid based feel free to ask.
